When you trade and swap, you're helping to keep items out of the waste stream, and you're helping others acquire items they need (which helps them save money).

The city of Newton, Massachusetts, recently held a "Trade and Recycle Day" to help connect people with useful items and to recycle special items like washers, dryers, cell phones and printer cartridges.
