WASTE REDUCTION
When you reduce the amount of waste you make, you not only lessen your impact on
the environment, you also (sometimes in the short-run, sometimes in the long-run) save money!
Waste Reduction Tips:
-
REDUCE
-
REUSE
-
RECYCLE
-
Bring your own bag(s) with you to the store.
-
Carry a mug with you wherever you go for take out beverages.
-
Buy products in bulk to save on packaging.
-
Purchase paper that is bleach-free and filled with lots of post-consumer content. 80% or more is SUPER!
-
Switch from disposable to reusable products: food and beverage containers, cups, plates, writing pens,
razors, diapers, towels, shopping bags, etc.
-
Use the blank sides of used sheets of paper for note-taking.
-
Don't print out each memo or email you receive. Read and delete the ones you don't need to save
and electronically file others you might refer to later. Whenever possible, make two-sided copies.
-
Use the blank sides of used sheets of paper for note-taking.
- Print drafts on blank sides of used sheets of paper.
-
Instead of buying these items new, save and reuse all: bags (plastic and paper), rubber bands,
twisties, boxes, and packaging material.
