WATER CONSERVATION
Water is a precious resource and should be conserved as much as possible.
Try to find more ways to save every drop!
Water Conservation Tips:
-
When washing dishes by hand, fill one sink or basin with soapy water.
Quickly rinse under a slow-moving stream from the faucet.
- Take shorter showers. Replace your showerhead with an ultra-low-flow version.
Some units are available that allow you to cut off the flow without
adjusting the water temperature knobs.
-
Store drinking water in the refrigerator.
Don’t let the tap run while you are waiting for cool water to flow.
-
Don't run the hose while washing your car.
Use a bucket of water and a quick hose rinse at the end.
-
Run only full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.
-
Capture tap water. While you wait for hot water to come down the pipes,
catch the flow in a watering can to use later on house plants or your garden.
-
Don't defrost frozen foods with running water. Either plan ahead by
placing frozen items in the refrigerator overnight or defrost them in the microwave.
-
Don't use your toilet as an ashtray or wastebasket.
